.... one strawberry dutch baby and a cup of coffee. These strawberries are the ones we wait for all year - the local berries. My, oh my are they good.

The fact of the matter is, I'm not reading today. I'm taking a screen break for a few days, with the exception of posting to this blog. Here is what I am doing instead - a lovely 1000 piece puzzle. And my, is it a work of art!
(At last, I finally have a space in my home for a puzzle.) Every single day I go out to the deck to water plants if needed. We've had a bit of wind lately, so I also clean fuchsia from the deck.
You wouldn't think this would always blindside me when this happens. I struggle with depression, especially affected by the condition of the natural light in my environment. (Yes, and so I, of course, live in the perpetually cloudy Pacific Northwest. Excellent choice, no?) The dark clouds hit yesterday, and by this morning I just barely manage to function, by my standards. I got dressed. I worked. I ate some food, none of which tasted particularly good. That seems to be the extent of what I am able to do. So today's photo is my excuse. Dave hypothesizes that I am, in actuality, a plant. It would explain a lot.
....weather permitting The view is spectacular, without even looking very far though I'm not always as isolated as I think 3:30 pm every day so far.
Who knew hummingbirds were so punctual? Two kinds of art sprang up in my neighborhood. We must have a resident artist! Trail art and actual canvases perched on a shopping cart. Can't help but be curious about the story underlying this scene.
